About Vision Academy

Who Are We?

Vision Academy 345 is a nonprofit organisation established in September 2023, built upon the proud legacy of the former 345 Athletic Club. The original club—founded by the late Derek Larner, an exceptional running coach, passionate sports enthusiast, and devoted advocate for young people—fell silent after his passing in 2021, leaving a profound void within both the club and the wider sporting community of the Cayman Islands.

In honour of his memory, the club has been thoughtfully revived by Lacee Riley (née Barnes), an NCAA Division I athlete, the Cayman Islands’ national record holder in the shot put and discus, a three-time CARIFTA gold medallist, and a distinguished international representative for her country. She is joined by her husband, Adrian Riley, an NCAA Division I All-American in the decathlon and long jump, and a national representative and former professional athlete for Jamaica.

Together, they have breathed new life into the organisation, ensuring that Mr. Larner’s legacy continues to inspire. Vision Academy 345 remains steadfast in its mission to cultivate a love for athletics among the youth of the Cayman Islands—empowering them to discover their potential, embrace discipline and resilience, and build a future strengthened by sport and community.
